In public discourse about artificial intelligence, particularly AI bots like ChatGPT, a narrow and reductive view persists: that AI is merely a sophisticated information retrieval tool — an advanced version of Google. Critics often exaggerate moments when an AI bot fails to provide accurate data or makes factual errors, using such lapses as evidence of its unreliability or irrelevance. But this criticism, while not entirely without merit, reflects a limited understanding of AI’s broader cognitive potential.
